KATHMANDU -- Improvement in Chinese lifestyle during 30 years, development in trade and commerce and organizational development of private sector is the outcome of policy of reform and opening-up, said Dipak Sarkar, President of Chinese Information Center in Nepali capital Kathmandu.
In an exclusive interview with Xinhua before his departure to China on Monday, Dipak said the 30-year opening-up policy has not just shift China in third rank of world trade, it has also benefited least developed countries like Nepal by providing economic assistance as well as affordable goods.
Dipak, who is also President of Nepal-China Investment Promotion Center, recall his first visit to Shenzhen in southern China. He was there in 1992 to participate the Photo exhibition held by Nepali photographers about Nepal.
Shenzhen was the first special economic zone and the construction of developments works were keenly happening at that time. Dipak said he got astonished with the fastest development in other cities as well.
During his first visit to some cities of China, he saw lots of bicycles on the road. But now, the situation has drastically changed. The roads are covered by luxury cars, he said.
High skilled workforce known by their "blue costume" were in less number. Not only their income and other facilities were not satisfactory also they didn't get job of their skill. He shared what he heard 30 years before about China. But now all these things seem like stories, he added.
Monday evening, Dipak is making his 50th visit to China. Formally I have visited China 49 times, he said talking to Xinhua.
There are many agriculture universities, hundreds of technical secondary schools and schools and research centers in each province of China. Decentralized policy has much boosted up the economic growth, said Dipak.
Dipak, who is also a Nepali business man, praised China's decision of providing economic assistance and co-operation to about 20 least development countries among them Nepal is one. " China's decision to invest in Nepal for sure uplift our economy as well," he said.
Dipak said China alone is not enjoying benefit of 30 years improvement, they are sharing this achievement with neighboring countries as well.
In early stage Nepali were compelled to buy Indian goods of same quality at high cost, now China exports same quality goods at low rate, he said.
Large number of Nepali businessmen are doing business with Chinese goods. In fact, Nepali businessmen selling these products coming from western part of China, he said. Hundreds of Nepali import Chinese goods and do their business for livelihood, he added.
China and its 30 years policy has come up with economic helper throughout the whole world, said Dipak.
