Han Jihai, senior consultant at CCTSS, said he hopes CCTSS and the workshop can continually serve audiovisual translators and communicators in finding, translating and introducing Chinese works.
Deanna Gao, chairwoman of the Paris Chinese Film Festival, introduced the origins of the workshop and shared her experience in audiovisual translation and the technical issues she encountered.
She said the value of the workshop lies in translating languages in film and TV productions as cultural symbols that are easier to understand among foreign audiences. "It's crucial that [translators] should provide as much cultural connotations as possible to their foreign audiences in translation," she said.
