Cultural creative products promote Chinese culture

A forum intending to promote the cultural creative industry was held at the Emperor Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum Site Museum on May 18, which was also World Museum Day.

Hou Ningbin, director of the museum, said that as a new industry, cultural creation is an integration of the economy, culture and technology. It has a high degree of fusion, strong penetration and radiation and supports the development of new and related industries.

“While promoting related industries and the economy, the cultural creative industry also influences all aspects of people's lives and improves their cultural quality in an all-round way,” he added.

At the forum, winners of a cultural creative competition that opened on Dec 29, 2017, were named and rewarded.

According to Hou, the contest committee received more than 1,200 products. The winning works integrated the Terra-Cotta Warriors figures and reflected traditional Chinese culture.

Hou said that the competition will be held in the coming years to further promote the cultural creative industry.

The museum, next to the Emperor Qinshihhuang’s Mausoleum, lies in Lintong district, Xi’an, Shaanxi province, and displays thousands of man-sized terra-cotta warriors and horses made for Qinshihuang, the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty (221-207 BC).
