Shaanxi speeds up in college scientific achievements' commercialization

An exhibition and promotion conference to seek cooperation between universities and enterprises opened in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi province on June 24.

According to Liu Jianlin, deputy director of the Shaanxi Provincial Education Department, the exhibition aims to increase the commercialization of innovations and to contribute to the economic growth of the province.

He also said the event is a platform to deepen the practical cooperation between the universities and the enterprises, and promote the deep integration of industry, universities and research.

At the meeting, the provincial education department, eight universities within the province and 13 enterprises signed cooperation agreements which mention cooperation with respect to the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

After the signing ceremony, 10 universities announced their latest scientific and technological achievements and innovations, and eight colleges and universities conducted roadshows.

The exhibition will end on June 27. A total of 1,457 booths are set up for 690 colleges, education institutes and enterprises to promote their education ideas and modes.

In addition, 3,022 scientific achievements presided over by colleges and universities and 470 innovative products made by postgraduates are on display.
