Xi’an seeks opportunity to hold FE competitions
Party Committee Secretary of the Xi’an Hi-tech Industries Development Zone, Zhong Hongjiang, visited the venue of the FIA Formula E Championship in New York on July 12 local time, expressing the efforts the zone is prepared to make to bring in FE competitions and related industries.
Formula E, officially the ABB FIA Formula E Championship, is an auto race for electric-powered cars. Started in 2014, it was the first full-electric single-seat car race initiated by the Federation International automobile.
Zhong’s visit was intended to seek cooperation opportunities to hold FE contests and to promote the new energy car industry in the Xi’an Hi-tech zone of Shaanxi province.
Six centers, including a global new energy auto research center, a test center and an after-sale service platform, are planned to create a modular new energy car industrial chain.
According to Zhong, those resources for FE competition and its related industry will be developed to contribute to Shaanxi province’s three million auto output goal.
