7-year-old girl donates bone-marrow to save mom

A 7-year-old girl named Linlin has donated her bone-marrow in a hospital in Zhejiang Province, to save her mom from acute aplastic anemia,a bone-marrow failure syndrome,reports thepaper.com Tuesday.

Li Yueye, Linlin's mom, was diagnosed with acute aplastic anemia four months ago in a provincial hospital in Zhejiang and doctors told Li that to save her life they'll have to find a matching bone-marrow donor.

Linlin became her last hope after doctors failed to find a match among her relatives. However,it's hard to imagine how the 7-year-old was feeling going to the procedure.

Linlin kept silent during the medical procedure as doctors stuck needles into her back. All she said was "a little painful"to her father. Meanwhile,Li Yueye was anxious, knowing what her daughter was going through next door. She immediately cried when she saw Linlin after the operation.

Doctor Ye from the Zhejiang provincial hospital said that the recovery rate for Li rose up to 80 percent. He said she will have to remain under observation in hospital for at least 2-month before she can be able to go home.
