Skiing and symphonies mark Austria's Salzburgland resorts

Ski amadé, named after Mozart, and 50 km from the musician's birthplace, Salzburgland, is a perfect combination of nature and culture, as people can transfer between skiing sites and music, the theater and exhibitions within a one-hour drive.

A Ski amadé pass is valid at all 365 slopes of 760 km and 270 cable cars during the winter season, which lasts from early December to late April.

For those who never get enough skiing, there is the Salzburg Super Ski Card, which covers all 22 ski regions with more than 2,000 km of slopes.

Novice skiers can chose from 120 ski-and-snowboard schools with 2,000 multilingual skiing instructors.

Summertime also is worth exploring. With 1,800 separate grazing areas and 550 huts, Salzburgland has the most summer huts in Austria, with 170 of them certified "Alpine Summer Huts", a distinction that is not easy to achieve. Visitors can enjoy an authentic hut experience with the view of surrounding peaks and food served by the hosts, as the huts preserve the heritage of the alpine hill-farming community.
