President Xi Jinping chairs symposium on poverty alleviation in Chongqing

President Xi Jinping, who is on an inspection tour in Chongqing, chaired a symposium on poverty alleviation problems on Tuesday.

The symposium was mainly about solving prominent problems to meet people's basic needs of food and clothing and guaranteeing compulsory education, medical services and housing.

Party officials and representatives from the central leadership, Chongqing Municipality, counties and villages in the city who are in charge of the undertakings have reported on the related situations at the symposium.
