Anish Kapoor's first solo exhibition in China

British sculptor Anish Kapoor, one of the world's most renowned and controversial living artists, will astonish Chinese art lovers with his gigantic, enigmatic creations that will go on show at the CAFA Art Museum in Beijing on Oct 25.

As the Turner Prize winner's first-ever solo exhibition in China, the show will present some of the artist's most influential and sought-after artworks in his past 35-year sculpting career, including four of his monumental pieces—Symphony for a Beloved Sun, Destierro, Sectional Body Preparing for Monadic Singularity, and My Red Homeland.

Also on view will be models of the Indian-born artist's significant public sculptures of his decades-long art practice, including the Cloud Gate, Orbit, and Subway Stations.

Another part of the artist's solo show will be staged on Nov 11 at the six-century-old Taimiao, (the Imperial Ancestral Temple Art Museum). A series of Kapoor's most impactful, interactive stainless sculptures such as S-Curve and C-curve will grace and spice up the ancient site.

Viewers can also have a close look at Kapoor's painterly use of colors through his pigment sculptures including Angel and To Reflect an Intimate Part of the Red at the Taimiao Art Museum.

The CAFA exhibition runs through Jan 1, while the Taimaio show will be on view until Dec 28.
