Qinghai launches plan to give yak a new look

Qinghai yak public brand was released at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Dec 7.

Yak has lived in Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau since ancient times, and its meat and milk, hair and bones are used in products. Both yak economy and yak culture are developing in Qinghai province, and the public brand is aimed at building the world's first yak capital.

Wang Yuhu, head of Qinghai Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, said that to build Qinghai yak public brand and to promote it into a national brand is quite meaningful for helping animal husbandry's supple-side reform and the integrative development of the three industries.
