China's crude oil output edges up in November

BEIJING - China's crude oil production rose 0.9 percent year-on-year to 15.7 million tons in November, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

The growth rate was up 0.9 percentage points from the previous month, while the country's daily average output of crude oil increased 3,000 tons to 523,000 tons.

In the first 11 months of the year, China's crude oil output totaled 174.95 million tons, up 1 percent from the previous year, the NBS data showed.

Imports of crude oil rose 6.7 percent year-on-year to 45.74 million tons in November, while during the January-November period the imports totaled 461.88 million tons, a 10.5-percent increase from a year ago.

International oil prices increased during the period, with the benchmark Brent crude selling for $64.5 per barrel on Nov 29, up $5.2 from Oct 31.
