CPPCC observes minute of mourning at opening session

The third session of the 13th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee opened Thursday afternoon in Beijing.
A minute's silence was observed at the plenary session to mourn the martyrs and compatriots who died in the nation's fight against the novel coronavirus.
President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, attended the meeting with other leaders at the Great Hall of the People.
Wang Yang, chairman of the 13th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, delivered a work report to more than 2,000 political advisers at the session.
