Beijing opens equestrian path within urban area

Beijing has launched its first equestrian path with a length of 4.37 kilometers for citizens and tourists, the local government of Cuigezhuang county in Chaoyang district announced on Wednesday.
Visitors can ride horses to enjoy the sightseeing of forests, parks, lakes and wine chateaus along the path.
Wu Xuanhui, Party secretary of the county, said the county has a long history of raising horses and the path will hold equestrian sports and spread the equestrian culture in future.
The path is the nation's first to be built inside a dense urban area. Construction began last year.
