Rare white plant found in Chongqing

A rare herbaceous perennial plant — Monotropa uniflora — was found in Yintiaoling National Nature Reserve in Chongqing's Wuxi county. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com cn]

The plant can be found in Japan, India, Southeast Asia, North America and many parts of China. It is beautiful but fragile and will quickly wither and blacked once picked.

Experts said the rare plant has high environmental requirements, and local ecological protection efforts appear to have helped.
