Beijing's Taikoo Li continues expansion
The refurbishment of Beijing's Taikoo Li Sanlitun West — formerly known as Yashow Market — as an extension to Taikoo Li Sanlitun has completed, making its debut on Tuesday.
The hustle-and-bustle Sanlitun area is well-known for its nightlife, including high-end fashion brands, restaurants serving international and domestic cuisine and trendy bars.
The three-year renovation cost about 110 million yuan ($17.2 million), aiming to draw more youngsters into the area.
In addition to a Uniqlo global flagship store and Nike Rise outlet, guests can visit the global flagship store of Descente for apparel suitable for running, skiing and golf.
As many Cantonese have the habit of going to an eatery early in the morning for dim sum, the opening of Tao Tao Ju Restaurant allows residents in Beijing to enjoy authentic Cantonese specialties. The brand was founded in 1880 in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, and this is the first location in Beijing.
The expansion of Taikoo Li Sanlitun will continue through the end of 2022, adding more glamour to the area as a landmark for shopping, entertainment, leisure and culture.
