Top executives weigh in at CIIE (V)

A1: This is the fourth time for Ingersoll Rand to participate in the CIIE. We are a CIIE "veteran". CIIE has become one of the most important events on Ingersoll Rand's annual calendar. It is such a great place to connect with our customers and our partners, that on every CIIE, we will unveil one or more of our most innovative products and technologies to the China market.

As a global company with more than 160 years legacy and driven by ownership and entrepreneurial spirit, we incorporate operating sustainably as one of our company's strategic imperatives. It drives us to remain strong socially and environmentally conscious. We want to take this year's CIIE as the platform to spotlight our company focus, strategic plans as well as technologies to make a better sustainable life in the double-carbon world.

A2: The COVID-19 pandemic is not yet coming to an end, the world's economic recovery is fragile. With this background, the fourth CIIE is held on schedule. For sure it will boost the confidence for global economic development.

The Chinese market has become a global market and a shared market. By holding CIIE for four years, China has brought increasing cooperation opportunities for the enterprises and organizations around the world. More and more countries are integrated and connected in the global industrial chain and sharing growth opportunities.

Last year, the third CIIE's cumulative intended turnover reached $72.62 billion in total. CIIE and China are significant to the world economic recovery.

A3: Firstly, China's increasing imports contributes to a more stable and good environment for the world economy and demonstrating our social responsibilities as a large country. With a population of 1.4 billion and a large middle-income group of more than 400 million, China has huge domestic demand, large market and great potentials for a wider and deeper global cooperation. Secondly, actively expanding imports can stimulate the vitality of markets. With more and more high-quality products and services into China, it will provide assistance to China's economy upgrade. In turn, it will benefit the world's economy again.

A4: Customers lean on us for our technology-driven excellence in mission-critical flow creation and industrial solutions across over 40 respected brands where our products and services excel in the most complex and harsh conditions. Our portfolio of products consists of air compressors, pumps, blowers, and systems for fluid management, loading and material handling as well as power tools.

With the recovery of economics as well as supported by secular megatrends, including aging populations, urbanization, industrialization, and increasing clean water, food and energy demand, double-carbon etc, we do overserve and anticipate a strong, lasting and transforming long-term opportunities not only in the industrial market but also in the whole China market.

A5: Yes. We are benefited by China's high-level opening-up policy. Ingersoll Rand is one of the first foreign-funded enterprises to enter China after China's reform and opening-up. During these years, we have received increasing support from the policy.

Now, our world class role model plant which is located in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, after years' continuous expansion, has become the manufacturing center of our global rotary air compressor, centrifugal air compressor and its core spare parts. This year, we newly established our innovation R&D center in Shanghai. We have firm confidence and determination to invest in China continuously.

A6: China is now implementing high-level opening-up. We believe it will promote China's economic development as well as bring great opportunities for global development.

For foreign investors and companies, China's opening-up can contribute a strong market for the world. What's more important, it brings high-quality resources to the world economic upgrade. More and more high-quality resources are opening, such as capital, information, talents, and cutting-edge industrial development resources. Continuous opening-up is a good example to actively respond to changing international situation and promote better global cooperation.

A7: China has made great efforts to ensure a higher level of opening-up. For example, it has strengthened the investigation and punishment of fake and shoddy goods and infringement. We are sure that this will be better in the future.

A8: For an international company, we are well benefited from globalization for years, and we believe that it will ensure the stability of the global supply chain and promoting the world's economic recovery.

Our goal in China is connecting to customers for life by delivering proven expertise, productivity, and efficiency improvements. We aim to cooperate deeply with local suppliers and partners, participate in and contribute to China's economic development and industrial upgrading.
