Wild birds flock to Ningxia's Yinhe Bay
A large number of wild geese and swans have recently become a major tourist attraction in the Yinhe Bay in the Shizuishan section of the Yellow River in Shizuishan city of the Ningxia Hui autonomous region.
The wild geese and swans can be seen hovering over the river, relaxing, foraging and playing on the river water.
And the beautiful and harmonious scenery attracts plenty of locals, tourists and photographers everyday.
Lu Youtan, a local photographer who has tracked wild birds for a long time, said the number of wild geese and swans he has seen and photographed this time is the most he has ever met.
Lu estimated there were more than 10,000 wild geese and hundreds of swans in the bay this time.
And that indicates that the ecology and environment of the Yellow River Basin in Shizuishan is becoming better and better, he said.
The growing number of wild birds choosing to spend the winter in the Shizuishan city demonstrates the achievement in the ecological environmental protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin, Lu added.
Shizuishan, meaning the mouth of stone mountains, got its name due to the prominent mountains and stones like mouth on both sides of the Yellow River.
As an old industrial city, it is one of the top 10 coal bases planned and constructed in China during the country's first five-year plan period.
