The Hurun Research Institute released the Hurun China Cross-Border M&A Report 2021 in Shanghai on Dec 16, selecting the 50 biggest cross-border mergers and acquisitions by Chinese enterprises in 2019 and 2020.
Hurun found metal and minerals topped the industries where Chinese firms conducted M&As, followed by software and service, medical and health, food and beverage and new energy.
Private enterprises account for 71 percent of acquiring firms among the top 50 M&As.
