World's top 10 real estate industry billionaires

Li Ka-shing topped the list as the world's richest real estate entrepreneur at 94 years old with $33 billion, followed by Lee Shau-kee of Henderson Land with $27 billion, and Country Garden's Yang Huiyan of $26 billion, according to the Hurun Research Institute.

The Hurun Global Real Estate Rich List 2022, a list of the real estate billionaires in the world, was released on April 6, and the wealth is a snapshot of Jan 14 this year, drawn from the Hurun Global Rich List 2022. The threshold for the list was $2.8 billion.

In total, the wealth of world's top 100 real estate billionaires reached $663 billion and average wealth increased by 5 percent. Among them, average wealth of real estate entrepreneurs in China shrank by 3 percent, and the average wealth of real estate entrepreneurs in the US grew by 10 percent.

The listed entrepreneurs come from 16 countries and 57 percent of them mainly hold commercial properties, while 43 percent mainly develop and sell properties.

As per the list, China topped the list with 52 entrepreneurs, then US with 17, UK with 8, and India with 6.
