Abbott confirms participation in 5th CIIE

Abbott announced its participation in the 5th China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai on Wednesday, which marked the 100-day countdown to the annual expo that is scheduled to take place from Nov 5-10.

Abbott, which will be making its third appearance at CIIE, is set to showcase its innovations in diagnostics, medical devices, nutrition products, and established pharmaceuticals under the theme "human-powered technology, shaping the future of health" at its 550-square-meter pavilion, according to a statement from the US-based global healthcare company.

"CIIE is a platform of communication and exchanges. Participating in CIIE enables us to expand the reach of our human-powered technologies to people in need. Therefore, our exhibits at CIIE this year will feature personalized healthcare solutions that cater to the Chinese market and cover all stages of life," said Fanny Chen, vice president of Abbott Core Diagnostics. "We are also looking forward to more opportunities to meet with business partners to jointly contribute to the Healthy China agenda."

Dozens of Abbott's innovative products and technologies made their debuts in the market thanks to CIIE over the last two years. Some of them have received regulatory approval to be marketed in the country.
