Starting with an ancient painting, the viewers find themselves surrounded by the artistic scene of “plucking chrysanthemums under the eastern hedge and gazing long at the distant Southern hills”. In the meantime, a group of literati are passionately discussing poems, painting chrysanthemums and climbing high to share their sentiments on the Double Ninth Festival. The show embodies a group of Chinese literati who repose their love in the mountains and rivers in autumn. They express their dignified tranquility, detachment from worldly things, love for nature and the philosophy of “returning to nature”. Through this performance, the audience will learn to understand how the ancients appreciated mother nature in autumn.
