Five red pandas were recorded recently by a hidden camera on a snowfield in Gaoligong Mountain National Nature Reserve in Yunnan province.
The pandas walked on the ice and snow, playfully covered their bodies with white and spent time looking for edible bamboo leaves. The video was found by workers from the management and protection bureau of the reserve while sorting infrared camera data.
The red panda is a second-class national protected species in China. The reserve is a habitat for various rare wild animals and contributes to global biodiversity.
