FTXT releases liquid hydrogen storage system

Chinese hydrogen solution provider FTXT unveiled globally leading products on Monday as part of its efforts into explore the fuel cell vehicle sector.

One of them is the storage system called Jupiter. FTXT said the Jupiter tank can storge over 80 kg of liquid hydrogen that can enable fuel cell vehicles to run for over 1,000 km.

The company also released the latest version of its gas hydrogen storage tank.

The new tank has seen its storage density to reach 6.1 percent weight per volume, higher than the 2025 goal of 5.5 percent weight per volume set by the United States Department of Energy.

The company announced plans to facilitate the operation of fuel cell vehicles in the country.

FTXT Vice-President Xie Chaopeng said that the company has joined hands with local partners to build 100 hydrogen refilling stations across the country, starting from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

FTXT has also partnered with companies including HBIS and Skywell to run a fleet of 650 fuel cell trucks as a demonstration project.

Established in 2019, FTXT has seen its products used in dozens of fuel cell commercial vehicles from such Chinese companies as Jiefang, Foton as well as Dongfeng and Yutong.
