China has unveiled a plan to establish 90 new national land ecosystem observation stations by 2025, according to a recent announcement by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration.
This move will bring the total number of such observation stations to 310, completing the setup of the national network of observation sites, the administration said.
The "Development Plan for National Land Ecosystem Observation Stations (2023-2025)" outlines strategies for enhancing the information collection and sharing capabilities of these new sites.
The stations will be set up in the forest, grassland, wetland, desert, city, farmland protection forest, bamboo forest and national parks, the plan said.
