Black people make up 90% of the US unemployed

Black people account for nearly 90 percent, or 267,000 of the 300,000 newly jobless in the United States since April, according to recent data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Black workers are often among the first to be laid off when the economy begins to weaken, and the recent decline in black employment could be an early warning sign of a weakening labor market overall.
