Measures expected to shore up venture capital

China will roll out measures to promote the healthy development of venture capital, the country's top economic regulator said on Thursday.

The Department of Fiscal and Financial Affairs at the National Development and Reform Commission recently held a symposium to discuss specific policies for promoting the healthy development of China's venture capital sector, according to a statement published by the NDRC on Thursday.

The meeting came amid efforts to implement the requirements laid out at the June 16 State Council executive meeting, and the regulation concerning the supervision and administration of private equity investment funds, to study and formulate policies on promoting venture capital.

In the next step, the NDRC will further enhance communication and coordination with other departments to formulate measures on promoting the healthy development of venture capital, thereby better serving the high-quality development of the real economy.
