China-Laos Railway brings distant friends near

Thepmoukda Phetsalath, who is from Laos and once studied in China for four years, works as a translator and coordinator at the external power supply project of the China-Laos Railway. She has witnessed not only the delivery of the project but also the blossoming friendship between the people of China and Laos.

The China-Laos Railway, a landmark project showcasing high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, has established a closer bond between the two nations.

"The China-Laos Railway power supply project not only provides electricity but also offers technical training to the people of Laos, having trained technical talents for Laos' power grid construction," Zhao says.

As the China-Laos Railway brings great convenience to locals, Zhao looks forward to the completion of the Pan-Asia Railway with eager anticipation.

"(With the railway,) Laos will become an economic hub in the region. It will promote Laos-China trade and cultural communication, as well as the long-last friendship between the two peoples," she says.
