Intelligent vehicle conference set for capital's Shunyi district

The 2023 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference will be held from Sept 20 to 24 in Shunyi district in Beijing, aiming to promote the commercialization of ICVs, local officials announced on Monday.

This year's conference will include an opening ceremony, which will invite domestic and international government leaders, industry experts and company executives to deliver speeches; two forums themed with ICV industry integrated development and international cooperation, said Qu Guochun, director of the equipment department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The conference will also host four summits, focusing on policies and regulations for the industrialization of ICVs, strengthening foundations and supply chains for the future, road testing and demonstration applications and other hot topics.

During the conference, the China International New Energy and Intelligent Connected Vehicle Exhibition will set up eight major exhibition areas covering artificial intelligence, vehicle chips and software, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei intelligent connected vehicle cluster, the 2023 National Intelligent Driving Test and a series of other events.

This year's conference will first set up a cross-departmental coordination symposium and reveal innovative achievements as part of efforts to set a global bench mark for the commercialization of ICVs.

Shunyi district will make efforts to attract more high-quality projects and technological achievements to the district, contributing to the high-quality development of the ICV industry, a local official said.

The district has opened 408 kilometers of public test roads and the 300-acre national intelligent vehicle and intelligent transportation (Beijing-Tianjin) demonstration zone in Shunyi has been put into operation.
