The Hangzhou Asian Para Games will be the most significant and outstanding event in the history of the Asian Paralympic Committee, according to Majid Rashed, the organization's president.
The one-week event, which will officially open on Sunday night, has attracted around 3,800 para-athletes from across Asia. A total of 564 competition events of 22 sports will take place in 19 venues in Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang province.
"I think from my experience in the last 25 years, we are about to see the biggest and the best Asian Para games ever in our history," said the APC president on Saturday soon after he finished his torch run in the host city.
