Sanya listed as popular domestic destination for upcoming holiday

Sanya has been listed as one of the famous domestic destinations for the 2024 New Year holiday from Dec 30 to Jan 1, according to a recent report by travel portal Tuniu.

Zhang Hao, deputy director of the Sanya Tourism Board, said that for the upcoming holiday, based on the bookings from Sanya airport, Beijing ranked first among the major passenger source cities, while numbers of passengers from Guangdong, Sichuan, Shanghai, and Zhejiang have also witnessed rapid growth in bookings.

With the resumption of inbound flights, Sanya has seen a significant increase in foreign tourists. Currently, the primary sources of overseas tourists in Sanya are Hong Kong, South Korea, Russian-speaking regions, and Southeast Asian countries. The inbound tourism market is expected to heat up during the New Year period.

Sanya has been enriching the supply of tourism products, innovating tourism consumption scenarios, strengthening tourism market supervision, implementing travel safety measures, enhancing tourism service awareness, and striving to create a festive atmosphere.

From Dec 30 to 31, the Strawberry Music Festival will be held in Sanya, bringing passionate performances. The festival will cover genres such as rock, independent pop, and electronic, allowing the audience to fully experience the beauty of nature and the charm of music in the warm winter sun of Sanya.

Sanya is actively conducting promotional activities to meet the diverse consumption needs of tourists. In terms of unique tourism product offerings, the city has introduced tourism products and routes such as yacht tourism, water tourism, low-altitude tourism, and rural tourism to showcase Sanya's characteristics.
