Baolao Lake in Yuxi town – nestling amid the picturesque Jiangyan district of Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – has undergone a profound physical transformation in recent years.
Previously plagued by severe oversilting of its river channels and high soil salinity, the Baolao Lake Forest Park saw many of its trees struggle with issues like drowning and stunted growth due to prolonged waterlogging.

Recognizing the significance of ecological rejuvenation, the government of Yuxi town placed conservation and restoration at the top of its agenda.
Extensive measures have been undertaken – including the clearing of 10 kilometers of waterways, the construction of 11 new bridges, the establishment of nearly 6 km of picturesque forest trails and the repurposing of a fishpond into a self-sustaining water body for wetland conservation.
Additionally, the lakeside greenery has been reconfigured and revitalized, transforming the surroundings into a tranquil forest haven.
Nowadays, a leisurely stroll through the enchanting park is quite literally a promenade through an oasis – with the lake's waters shimmering like jade, captivating visitors and beckoning them to linger within its serene embrace.

Looking to the future, plans are for Yuxi town to remain on course in its rural vitalization and ecological guardianship – envisioning Baolao Lake as a hub of environmental and ecological health, as well as a rejuvenating place for the holistic well-being of its residents.
