China to enhance green, low-carbon and circular development

China will firmly deepen the reform of the ecological civilization system and accelerate the planning and construction of a new energy system to better promote green, low-carbon and circular development of the country, a senior economic official said on Friday.

Han Wenxiu, executive deputy director of the office of the Central Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs, made the comments at a press conference expounding the essence of the just concluded third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

China will continuously improve the mechanism for realizing the value of ecological products, said Han, adding that the country will step up efforts to establish a carbon emission statistical accounting system, a product carbon labeling certification system, as well as a product carbon footprint management system to further promote green, low-carbon and circular development.
