State Grid Fuyang Power Supply: Conducting pre-holiday inspections of charging stations to facilitate sustainable travel

"The charging point operation interface displays normally, the device appearance and charging gun are free of damage, the code scanning system can be used, and it can be charged normally...," said a staff member from the State Grid Funan County Power Supply Company.

To ensure the "green" travel of new energy vehicle owners during the upcoming National Day holiday, on Sept 24, in Funan county, Fuyang city, Anhui province, the State Grid Fuyang Power Supply Company organized the Wanmei Communist Party Member Service Team to conduct a safety inspection of the charging points in the parking lots surrounding Fupo Park in the urban area.

"During the long National Day holiday, many people will opt for self-driving travel. With the growing share of new energy electric vehicles, the use of charging facilities will also reach its peak. Ensuring their normal and safe operation is essential," said the staff member.

According to Lyu Yin, another staff member of the State Grid Fuyang Power Supply Company, the number of new energy vehicles in Fuyang has been steadily increasing over the past two years. By the end of 2023, the number of new energy vehicles in Fuyang had reached 62,800, ranking second in the province and marking a year-on-year increase of 66.28 percent. To better cater to the public's charging needs, Fuyang has established four power stations and installed over 45,000 charging piles, including more than 5,300 public charging piles.

As the National Day holiday approaches, State Grid Fuyang Power Supply Company has taken proactive measures to ensure that new energy vehicle owners can safely and conveniently use charging stations during the festivities. The company has conducted safety inspections of various charging stations, including those in communities, parks and parking lots within its jurisdiction, guiding vehicle owners on the proper and safe use of charging stations.

During these inspections, the staff meticulously checked the operational status of each charging station, the integrity of the charging interfaces and the condition of the charging cables to ensure the proper functioning of the charging equipment. Additionally, the staff actively promoted safe charging practices among new energy vehicle owners, instructing them on the correct usage of charging stations, patiently explaining the proper operation procedures, precautions and emergency response methods, thereby enhancing their safety awareness and emergency response capabilities.

During the upcoming National Day holiday, State Grid Fuyang Power Supply Company will continue to intensify inspections and maintenance of charging stations to ensure that the equipment remains in excellent operating condition. Additionally, the company will operate a 24-hour service hotline to promptly address any issues encountered during the charging process, providing a solid foundation for green travel.
