Expat immerses himself in Sanya's natural beauty, cultural riches

"This has been an extraordinary trip that has left a lasting impression on me," said Mike Walter, an anchor of CGTN North America, on Oct 9 in Sanya.

"This is my first time in Sanya. Having seen numerous reports about Sanya while working for CGTN, I was determined to visit when the opportunity arose. Upon arrival, I found that the scenery and experiences exceeded my expectations."

During his nearly week-long stay in Sanya, Walter explored attractions such as Luhuitou Scenic Area, Wuzhizhou Island Tourist Resort, and Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park.

"These places are all so beautiful and worth experiencing slowly. Before coming to Sanya, I only knew about the beautiful bays and clean beaches here, but I was surprised to discover even more stunning landscapes upon arrival," shared Walter.

Walter highlighted that besides the captivating landscapes, Sanya boasts a rich cultural tapestry. "These days, we watched the Atlantis Sanya show and the Sanya Qiangguqing performance, both spectacular. Witnessing the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures in Sanya, experiencing its rich historical and ethnic heritage, one can feel that Sanya not only showcases its natural beauty to visitors but also focuses on presenting its cultural charm."

Impressed by the convenient services available at various tourist spots in Sanya, Walter remarked, "Many places provide bilingual signs in English, Russian, and more, making it easy for tourists to explore without the fear of getting lost."

"I've heard that Sanya is gearing up to host the 6th Hainan Island International Film Festival. As a film enthusiast, I am eagerly looking forward to it," said Walter, who has attended film festivals in Switzerland, Munich, and Australia, among others, during his free time. He believes Sanya has what it takes to host a fantastic film festival.

Walter emphasized that Sanya possesses the ideal conditions for hosting various entertainment events, with a promising future in the entertainment industry. "Sanya offers many exciting water activities and a vibrant nightlife, making it an ideal location for hosting concerts and other large-scale entertainment events. I believe people will have a fantastic experience here."
