State Grid Hangzhou Power Supply Company: Making green travel more 'electrifying'

"This time, I came to participate in the Tonglu Half Marathon by driving a new energy vehicle. It is both environmentally friendly and convenient," a marathon participant said. Recently, the 2024 Tonglu Half Marathon was successfully held, attracting more than 14,000 people to sign up. In its preparations, the State Grid Hangzhou Power Supply Company made scientific arrangements to ensure the smooth running of the half-marathon.

As one of the largest sports events in Tonglu, the Tonglu Half Marathon has been successfully held five times. The 21-kilometer track connects Tonglu's culture, tourism and sports, giving runners from all over the country and around the world a glimpse into Tonglu's attractive environment, urban culture and spiritual outlook. In order to guarantee consistent power supply during the marathon, the State Grid Hangzhou Power Supply Company formulated a series of power protection measures, strengthened grid operation monitoring, optimized power dispatching, conducted a comprehensive inspection of each charging station in the jurisdiction in advance and arranged an emergency repair team to deal with any possible power problems to complement the vigorous development of cultural and tourism undertakings.

On the field, the participants took vigorous steps and cheered as they raced to the starting line, while admiring the unique charms of Fuchun's landscapes. Off the field, power supply personnel were busy yet orderly. They visited each charging station early and carried out inspections of electric vehicle charging piles. They also conducted meticulous detection and maintenance on key parts such as charging pile gun heads, pile bodies and cables, and eliminated hidden defects in time to ensure the normal operation of charging equipment and help boost green travel.

In the next stage, the company will continue to improve its level of power supply service and plans to update and upgrade the charging piles within its jurisdiction and introduce superfast charging stations. The new charging stations will have a faster charging speed, allowing car owners visiting Tonglu to enjoy a more time-saving, worry-free, convenient and fast charging experience.
