Growth engine for global economy

Editor's note: For many years, the Asia-Pacific region has been a driving force for economic growth. Meetings of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, which started this week in Lima, the capital of Peru, have drawn global attention. Geographically, APEC members come from Asia, Oceania and the Americas. The APEC economies together account for 62% of the world's GDP and 48% of global trade.
