A stylish and glittering fashion show – called the Fashion Gala of Liede International Neighborhood (Hong Kong-Macao Community) – was staged on Dec 20 on the outdoor lawn of Zhujiang Park, in Tianhe district of Guangzhou.

The very first fashion show in Guangzhou to be held in a central city park, the gala not only showcased the essence of local Lingnan culture but also spotlighted the region's innovative spirit.

"This fashion gala is positioned as an international platform showcasing the fusion of Canton culture and global fashion," said Yu Qianqian, head of the event's planning team and associate professor at the School of Art and Design at Guangdong University of Technology.

It aimed to thrust Guangzhou into the limelight as an international fashion capital while celebrating its rich local traditions, Yu added.

Featuring a star-studded lineup – including creations from XU'S, Jinnee, Ariadne from Sweden, NuNu&NoNo, Jiwenbo and more – the event entertained the audience with an arresting array of fashion debuts from the renowned brands.

Noteworthy was the gala's innovative use of digital technologies and interactive stage art installations, offering attendees a spellbinding journey through the realms of fashion.

A live band, fusing traditional ethnic instruments with Western musical elements, provided the funky music backing.

Aaron Finley, a member of the board of directors of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, warmly praised the event.

"This fashion gala seamlessly blends modern trends with traditional Cantonese attire, while the interplay of lighting and music creates an ambiance that is simply extraordinary," he added.
