Zhangzhou city and Jiuxian Mountain, in Dehua county, located in East China's Fujian province, were recently selected, respectively, on the lists for "Recommended winter healthcare resorts that don't need heating" and "Recommended winter weather landscape niche places to visit".

The lists were released jointly by the press center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the CMA Center for Communication and Outreach.

Zhangzhou, situated in a prime climate zone at 25 degrees north latitude, offers an average winter temperature of 14.4 C, providing one of the warmest winter escapes in Fujian.

With its rich history, Zhangzhou boasts a wealth of cultural heritage and natural attractions, including Nanjing Tulou, Zhangzhou Ancient City, Yundongyan and the Nanjing Danxia Landform. The Tianluokeng cluster stands out as the most iconic of Fujian's tulou buildings

Jiuxian Mountain, rising 1,658 meters in Dehua county in Quanzhou, is a national 4A-level tourist attraction. It is often shrouded in clouds and mist all year round and legends of immortals add to its mystique, with ancient temples and Taoist temples that nestle among the slopes exuding a serene atmosphere.

Frozen rime, supreme sunrises and the sea of clouds are celebrated as Jiuxian Mountain's unique attractions. From late December to February, visitors and photography enthusiasts flock there to witness the mesmerizing rime scenery, making it a sought-after spot for rime in southern regions.

These selections are acclaimed for not only highlighting Fujian's winter cultural and tourism appeal, but for also offering a diverse range of amazing options to travelers – further enhancing the region's "Refreshing Fujian: Starting Point of the Maritime Silk Road" brand.
