Project launched to revitalize Guangdong's Luofu Mountain
The appealing views and celestial atmosphere of the Luofu Mountain, situated in Boluo county, Huizhou, Guangdong province, have drawn intellectuals and practitioners of ancient Taoism alike through the ages.
Recently, the place received dozens of architects and scholars from home and abroad, some of whom were not only visiting Luofu for the first time but also contributing to a face-lift of the area with their creations.
The group unveiled an ambitious project to introduce a talent pool of architects, artists, art curators, urban planners and craftsmen and renovate the Nankunshan-Luofushan Rim Pioneer Zone.
The zone is nestled among Luofu Mountain and Nankun Mountain, in Longmen county, Huizhou. The project will link villages and towns, which take pride in their mesmerizing natural beauty.
The talent pool will design facilities, create cultural venues, and public education programs to revitalize the villages in the zone. The project aims to improve the living condition of locals, enrich their cultural lives while preserving their local history and environment, and also explore ways to draw tourists.
