The popular online drama Unnatural Fire shines a spotlight on fire investigators, a specialized group trained to determine whether a fire is accidental or intentional.
Starring Zhang Yunlong and Cai Wenjing, the drama follows fire investigator Xu Tongsheng as he teams up with a forensic expert and a seasoned criminal police officer to unravel the mysteries behind a series of unusual fires. Along the way, the protagonist also uncovers the truth about a cold case connected to his family that has been buried for years.
To ensure authenticity, the crew made extensive preparations, including receiving expert consultation from the Jiangsu Provincial Fire and Rescue Corps and researching cases to create props that accurately represent characteristics of typical fire scenes.
The drama adopts an unconventional narrative style, intertwining stand-alone cases with the main plot following the protagonist's investigation of his family's cold case in a fast-paced storytelling rhythm, which is reflected in the resolution of each case within an average of three episodes, add the producers.
