The milu deer is a rare animal unique to China and Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province, known for being the "hometown of milu deer", drawing people from near and far to see this extraordinary creature.
The prehistoric Taizhou region was a coastal plain with a pleasant climate and lush vegetation, inhabited by herds of milu deer.
A large number of milu deer fossils have been unearthed in the Taizhou area, with one estimated to be over 10,000 years old. Its branches and horns are intact, and its shape is beautiful. It's the only basically complete male milu deer subfossil skeleton specimen from the Neolithic period discovered in the world so far.

In the 1990s, the Qinhu Lake wetland reserve introduced four milu deer for protection, allowing this rare animal to reproduce and thrive in the region. As a result, the milu deer park has also become one of the most popular attractions in the Qinhu Lake Scenic Area.
The Qinhu Lake wetland reserve has currently entered the most beautiful season of the year. Here, the water and grass are abundant and there are herds of milu deer, making it a great place for hiking and deer watching.
