Xiamen Free Trade Zone's National Cultural Export Base has recently unveiled a new landmark — "Time Meets Island", China's first Minnan-themed immersive cultural attraction, which has commenced global trial operations. During the initial five-day public testing period, the park recorded over 20,000 visits.
Situated behind Dongdu Passenger Wharf and adjacent to the International Cruise Center, this 201,000-square-meter cultural complex creates a transcendent space where visitors can experience a millennium of Minnan cultural heritage.
The attraction meticulously traces the historical and cultural roots of the Minnan (southern Fujian) region, featuring three performance districts, eight thematic blocks, and 116 replicated historical architectures. The integrated space makes it easy for visitors to immerse themselves in its distinctive cultural charm.
The site encapsulates the essence of Minnan culture through five thematic sections: "Ancient Mountains and Seas", "Minnan Dreamscape", "Echoes of Gulangyu", "Seaside Radiance", and "Voyage Through Time".
It seamlessly integrates 83 intangible cultural heritage elements into its architectural designs, live performances, and interactive experiences.
The attraction also offers authentic Minnan delicacies including Shacha Noodles, and Mee Sua Goo (Thin Noodles Soup), alongside innovative recreations of ancient culinary traditions.
