Xpeng integrates premium AI-driving features into affordable EVs

Chinese new energy vehicle company Xpeng Motors debuted its highly anticipated MONA M03 Max model, bringing premium artificial-intelligence-powered driving to the affordable electric vehicle market.

A game-changer in the industry, the MONA M03 Max integrates Xpeng's Turing AI-assisted Driving System and the full-capacity AI Tianji System, marking the first time advanced AI driving features—previously exclusive to models priced above 200,000 yuan ($27,900)—are made accessible in the sub-150,000 yuan segment, the company said.

According to Xpeng, since its launch, the MONA M03 has dominated China's A-class pure electric sedan market for eight consecutive months, winning over young, style-conscious drivers. Over 70 percent of owners are post-90s millennials, 20 percent are Gen Z, and female users account for 40 percent of sales.

Notably, more than 20 percent of buyers are from consumers of luxury brands like BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi, citing "sleek design" and "cutting-edge tech" as key reasons for their choice, Xpeng added.

By democratizing advanced AI driving technology, Xpeng said it not only wants to accelerate industry-wide adoption but also strengthen its competitive edge in China's rapidly evolving automotive landscape.
