Journalists explore Jiangsu's innovation and development achievements

During a three-day trip to Jiangsu organized by the State Council Information Office, a delegation of Chinese and foreign reporters toured multiple locations in Nanjing and Suzhou, exploring Jiangsu's technological and industrial innovations, as well as the sharing of development benefits with local communities.

From June 9 to 11, the reporters visited the Nanjing Jiangbei New Area, a national-level zone in China, and took a firsthand look at the Nanjing Biomedical Valley.

They observed the latest advancements in Nanjing's biomedical industry, including innovations in gene and cell therapy, as well as high-end medical devices, gaining insights into the forefront of industrial development.

Established in 2011, the Nanjing Biomedical Valley has become a hub for over 1,300 biomedical companies, with a focus on the gene and cell industry alongside innovative drugs and high-end medical devices.

The reporters also experienced rural revitalization efforts in Jiangning district, Nanjing, during their visit to the Rural Mate Sujia Ideal Village. They explored the picturesque village and its interesting shops.

Zhang Jing, the head of the Small Town Office in Nanjing's Moling Street, shared that the village welcomed over 500,000 visitors last year, which generated tourism revenue exceeding 30 million yuan ($4.2 million).

The reporters then ventured to Huanglongxian, a village renowned for its representation of Nanjing's tea culture and leisure tourism. With attractions like a thousand-acre tea garden path and the scenic Huanglong Pool, the village's tea culture street offered a range of unique accommodations and businesses.

Currently, more than 80 percent of its villagers have returned to work in their hometown, with the average annual income of villagers increasing sixfold over the past decade. This growth has also facilitated employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for over 1,500 villagers from surrounding communities.

The reporters also explored technological and industrial innovation in locations such as the Suzhou Industrial Park, where they visited companies like Magiclab and AISpeech.

At AISpeech, a leading domestic conversational artificial intelligence platform company, the reporters had the opportunity to witness cutting-edge technology in intelligent interaction and engage in discussions about its diverse application scenarios.
