Photographer documents final days of centenarian war heroes

Born on Aug 16, 1915, Liu Xianyu is originally from Jiangkou county, Guizhou province, and later lived in Yongle village, Chunkou township of Liuyang city, Hunan province. In 1932, he was conscripted into the National Revolutionary Army and fought in major battles, facing countless life-threatening situations. Liu passed away on Jan 29, 2016. The photo was taken at Liu's home in Liuyang on his 100th birthday in 2015.
