Scenic masterpiece draws visitors to maximum capacity

The Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area in Sichuan province is a masterpiece painted by nature, where beauty unfolds in its waters and mountains, drawing over 4 million visitors as of Aug 15 this year.

From July 28 to Aug 20, official data show that Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area welcomed 41,000 visitors per day for 24 consecutive days, reaching maximum capacity. The scenic area saw over 984,000 visitors during the period with a year-on-year increase of more than 240,000, which represents an increase of 32.34 percent. It marked a peak period during the summer vacation, accompanied by the heaviest management pressure.

Since July 28, the scenic area has implemented a management model with integrating bookings, staggered visiting times, and tourist diversion, leveraging the command center's passenger flow monitoring and early warning system to regulate visitor numbers.

Workers from Jiuzhaigou county's relevant departments and the scenic area, and volunteers have been deployed to serve tourists, over 7,000 consultation calls were answered, and more than 2,300 assistance requests were addressed, achieving "zero major safety incidents".
