During the 50 years of Japanese colonial rule, Taiwan compatriots, with a glorious tradition of patriotism, bravely resisted Japanese invaders alongside Chinese mainland compatriots. Over 650,000 Taiwan people sacrificed their lives for national sovereignty and territorial integrity. The CPC significantly advanced Taiwan's recovery movement, and its policies were actively supported by Taiwan compatriots. They recognized that only under CPC leadership, by forming a united front with mainland compatriots, could they ultimately achieve the goal of ending Japanese colonial rule.
