Two Chinese navy warships to open to public in Qingdao
QINGDAO -- Two warships of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy will open to the public at the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center in East China's coastal city of Qingdao from Sept 24 to 28, the PLA Navy Beihai Fleet announced on Tuesday.
The open-day event, organized by the Northern Theater Command Navy of the PLA and designed to promote the spirit forged in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, will feature tours aboard the missile destroyer Xining and the missile frigate Wuhu.
Members of the public can book free tickets via the official WeChat account of the Beihai Fleet.
Both domestically developed, the Xining and the Wuhu were commissioned in January 2017 and June 2017, respectively. The two vessels are currently in active service with the Northern Theater Command Navy.
