Wuhan University penalize academic staff members
Wuhan University has issued disciplinary punishments to several people for failing to perform their duties related to the recent sexual harassment case.
According to a statement released on Saturday, based on the investigation and relevant regulations, the university's Party committee issued Party warnings to former student affairs director, surnamed Li, for inadequate handling of disputes and student management. Deputy Party secretaries from the School of Foreign Languages and Literature, surnamed Liu, and the Economics and Management School, surnamed Xie, were warned for insufficient student oversight.
The university also ordered the student affairs department and the School of Foreign Languages and Literature Party Committee to submit written self-criticisms and implement corrective measures. Yang's supervisor, surnamed Guo, was suspended from graduate student recruitment for two years due to supervisory negligence.
The vice-dean of the Economics and Management School, surnamed Liu, received a warning for inadequate management. The academic degree committee of the Economics and Management School was ordered to submit written self-criticism and address the errors. The Graduate School and the Economics and Management School Party Committee were directed to reform their practices.
