Guizhou's Huanggang village named on UN Best Tourism Village list

Huanggang village is recognized for its ongoing practice of ancestral worship, traditional festivals, and farming customs, its fine timber architecture, and its well-developed model of sustainable tourism. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

Launched in 2021, the UN Tourism Best Tourism Villages initiative aims to boost tourism's role in rural development by valuing and safeguarding rural landscapes, knowledge systems, biodiversity, and cultural heritage. To date, 236 villages from 57 countries have been selected, including 19 in China.
